The Modern Classic Society historic costume collection features 19th & 20th century wears but the strength of the collection is Ready to Wear post World War II.
It is the practice of The Modern Classic Society to conserve rather than restore: we believe that worn wears and/or other related artifacts have more significant personal history than unused pristine wears. Signs of wear such as alterations, repairs, dirt/stains and modifications are evidence that these are real wears and such worn and/or used by real people.
Our goal is to do two programs in the Spring and two programs in the Fall. The fashion show will have a historical context. Shows will feature contemporary design, local designer or individuals doing something remarkable in the fashion sector and creating new history.
